We are pleased to invite High Schools across the Frankston/Mornington Peninsula the opportunity give their students a unique work experience opportunity.

Work Experience opportunities at Sages Cottage Farm exist for students in the following areas:

Gardening & Horticulture

Daniel Idczak, Coordinator of Grounds and Animals, has years of experience and qualifications in Horticulture and Conservation Land Management and will teach the students about horticulture, preserving our indigenous flora and fauna, and about conservation land management.

The students will also get an opportunity to do some tree planting and propagating of seedlings & cuttings while learning about the environment.

Hospitality & Marketing

Sages Cottage Café is open Friday and Saturday’s and offers work experience in hospitality and food preparation. During the week when the Café is not open you will learn online purchasing of food & equipment and also marketing and promotion of Café.

Agriculture/Animal Care

You will learn how to feed the animals on the Farm which include — 1 pig, 2 cows, 3 Alpacas, 2 Sheep,1 goat, 3 rabbits, 12 Chickens, 2 geese, 2 Budgerigars and 2 cockatiels.

Also learning a general understanding of maintaining & caring for all animals plus the responsibility involved of owning your own animal.

Administration

Office Administration duties , data entry and reception, spreadsheet reporting and word-processing plus mail merge and letter writing.
